1. About QSense Imports

QSense Imports provides Japanese vehicle import guidance, sourcing support, coordination and package-specific services for eligible Victorian clients.

The website is intended to explain QSense Imports, its general service approach and the possible pathway for importing an eligible Japanese vehicle into Victoria.

References to “QSense”, “QSense Imports”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean the business operating under the QSense Imports name.

2. General website information

The information on this website is general in nature. It is provided as an introduction to QSense Imports and the Japanese vehicle import process.

Website information does not constitute:

  • legal, financial, taxation, mechanical or insurance advice;
  • a vehicle inspection, valuation or condition guarantee;
  • confirmation that a particular vehicle is eligible for import, compliance or registration;
  • a fixed quotation or guarantee of total road-ready cost;
  • a promise that any approval, government decision or third-party outcome will be obtained; or
  • a binding offer to provide services.

Import requirements, government processes, vehicle availability, supplier charges and third-party requirements may change. You should not bid on, purchase or make a financial commitment concerning a vehicle solely in reliance on general website information.

3. Import Suitability Check

Submitting an Import Suitability Check does not:

  • create a client relationship;
  • require QSense to accept your enquiry;
  • confirm that a vehicle can be imported, complied or registered;
  • reserve a vehicle or secure access to sourcing services;
  • constitute detailed professional advice; or
  • oblige either party to purchase or supply a paid service.

QSense may review the information submitted and recommend an appropriate next step. We may decline an enquiry where the vehicle, budget, location, timing, expectations or requested service falls outside our current scope. QSense currently accepts clients whose vehicles will be registered in Victoria, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Paid services and separate agreements

These website terms govern use of the website only.

Any paid QSense service will be governed by the applicable:

  • written proposal or package description;
  • service agreement;
  • invoice and payment terms;
  • authority or client instruction;
  • written inclusions, exclusions and service boundaries; and
  • any other document accepted by QSense and the client.

If there is an inconsistency between these Terms of Use and a signed or otherwise accepted service agreement, the service agreement will apply to the paid service to the extent of that inconsistency. No paid service begins merely because you visit the website, submit an enquiry or communicate with QSense.

5. Scope of QSense services

Depending on the selected service, QSense may provide guidance, sourcing support, information review, import-process coordination or concierge-level assistance.

The exact scope depends on the package or service purchased.

“Guidance” generally means explaining information, reviewing options and helping the client understand decisions and next steps.

“Coordination” generally means organising handoffs, liaising with selected providers, tracking progress and helping keep the client informed.

“Concierge” or higher-touch support means QSense takes the lead on specified steps where lawful, authorised, practical and included in writing. It does not mean QSense controls all providers, government bodies or outcomes.

QSense does not provide mechanical, engineering, legal, taxation, financial or insurance services unless expressly stated in writing and lawfully permitted.

6. Vehicle eligibility and approvals

Not every vehicle available in Japan can be imported, complied or registered in Australia.

Vehicle eligibility, import approval, compliance and registration are separate matters. A vehicle appearing on an eligible-vehicle list, register or pathway does not by itself guarantee that a specific vehicle will receive approval, can be successfully complied or will be accepted for registration.

Government bodies, compliance providers, workshops and other authorised parties make their own decisions under the requirements applying at the relevant time.

QSense does not guarantee:

  • vehicle eligibility;
  • import approval;
  • entry on the Register of Approved Vehicles;
  • availability or suitability of a Model Report;
  • successful compliance;
  • a Roadworthy Certificate;
  • VicRoads acceptance; or
  • registration.

7. Used-vehicle condition and available information

Japanese imported vehicles are generally used vehicles and may involve mechanical, electrical, structural, cosmetic, corrosion, accident-history, repair-history, odometer and roadworthiness risks.

Auction sheets, grades, photographs, translations, seller descriptions, inspection information and other available records may be incomplete, subjective or inaccurate.

QSense may help explain available information and identify apparent risk indicators, but this is not a mechanical inspection, engineering assessment, warranty or guarantee of condition.

Issues may become apparent only after purchase, arrival, compliance, inspection, roadworthy assessment or use.

You remain responsible for deciding whether to approve a vehicle and accept the risks associated with purchasing a used vehicle.

8. Costs, pricing and estimates

QSense service fees are separate from the vehicle purchase and other variable import, compliance and road-ready costs unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

Separate costs may include:

  • the vehicle purchase price;
  • Japan-side auction, agent, exporter and handling costs;
  • inland transport and export preparation;
  • currency conversion and international transfer costs;
  • shipping and marine insurance;
  • customs, duty, GST, Luxury Car Tax and processing charges where applicable;
  • biosecurity inspection, cleaning, treatment, delay or storage;
  • transport, towing, wharf and storage charges;
  • compliance, parts, labour and rectification;
  • RWC inspections, repairs and reinspection;
  • UVPs;
  • VicRoads appointments and charges;
  • registration, TAC, duty and number plates;
  • insurance;
  • fuel, tolls, parking and delivery; and
  • other supplier, workshop or government costs.

Any estimate, range or planning figure is indicative only unless expressly identified as a fixed written quotation. Final costs may vary because of the specific vehicle, purchase price, exchange rate, supplier pricing, shipping arrangements, government charges, biosecurity decisions, compliance requirements, workshop findings, repairs, registration requirements, delays and other circumstances.

9. Third-party providers and government bodies

The import process may involve Japanese agents, exporters, shipping providers, customs brokers, transport providers, compliance workshops, mechanics, insurers, government agencies and VicRoads.

These parties are independent of QSense unless expressly stated otherwise.

QSense may communicate or coordinate with third parties as part of an agreed service, but QSense does not control and is not responsible for their:

  • availability;
  • pricing;
  • advice;
  • workmanship;
  • inspections;
  • decisions;
  • delays;
  • policies;
  • errors or omissions; or
  • performance of their services.

Any third-party service may be subject to that provider’s own terms, payment requirements and liability arrangements. Government and regulatory decisions remain entirely subject to the relevant authority.

10. Timing

Any timeframe stated on the website or discussed before a formal service engagement is indicative only.

Timing may be affected by:

  • suitable vehicle availability;
  • auctions and seller processes;
  • client approvals and payments;
  • import approval processing;
  • export preparation;
  • shipping schedules;
  • port congestion;
  • customs and biosecurity processing;
  • cleaning, treatment or storage;
  • compliance workshop capacity;
  • parts availability;
  • RWC outcomes and repairs;
  • VicRoads appointment availability;
  • document readiness;
  • third-party delays; and
  • events outside QSense’s reasonable control.

QSense does not guarantee a purchase, shipping, arrival, compliance, registration or delivery date.

11. No guarantee of savings or outcomes

QSense does not guarantee that importing a vehicle will:

  • cost less than purchasing a comparable vehicle locally;
  • produce a particular resale value;
  • deliver a financial saving or profit;
  • result in a perfect or fault-free vehicle;
  • meet every personal preference;
  • be completed within a particular timeframe; or
  • achieve any specific approval, compliance or registration outcome.

QSense’s role is to provide the level of guidance, coordination or package-specific support agreed in writing.

12. Your responsibilities

When dealing with QSense, you are responsible for:

  • providing complete, accurate and current information;
  • reviewing information and documents before approving decisions;
  • disclosing relevant requirements, preferences and circumstances;
  • obtaining independent advice where appropriate;
  • approving vehicles, costs and material decisions;
  • making payments by required deadlines;
  • signing and providing required documents and authorities;
  • complying with legal, government, permit, insurance and registration requirements;
  • confirming insurance where relevant; and
  • not using website information to bypass required approval, compliance, roadworthy or registration processes.

You must not impersonate another person, provide misleading information or use the website for an unlawful purpose.

13. Permitted website use

You may use this website for lawful personal or business research connected with QSense Imports and its services.

You must not:

  • interfere with the operation or security of the website;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or information;
  • introduce malicious code or automated attacks;
  • scrape, copy or systematically extract website content without permission;
  • reproduce or commercially exploit website content except as permitted by law;
  • misrepresent an association with QSense Imports;
  • submit false, deceptive or fraudulent enquiries; or
  • use the website in a way that infringes another person’s rights.

We may restrict or block access where we reasonably believe the website is being misused.

14. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the website and its content—including text, branding, logos, graphics, layouts, service descriptions, the QSense Import Roadmap and original visual elements—are owned by or licensed to QSense Imports.

You may view and temporarily download website material for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You must not reproduce, adapt, publish, distribute, sell, license or commercially exploit any substantial part of the website without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

Third-party names, logos and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

15. External links

The website may link to external websites or services.

External links are provided for convenience or general reference. QSense does not control external websites and does not endorse or guarantee their accuracy, security, availability, content or services.

You access third-party websites at your own risk and should review their applicable terms and privacy information.

16. Website availability and accuracy

We aim to keep the website accurate, secure and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that all information will always be complete, current or error-free.

We may update, suspend, withdraw or change any part of the website without notice.

Service descriptions, package details, pricing and availability may also change. The terms confirmed in a current written proposal, invoice or service agreement will apply to an accepted paid service.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QSense is not liable for loss arising solely from:

  • reliance on general website information without obtaining relevant vehicle-specific advice;
  • decisions made before a written QSense engagement begins;
  • inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by a user or third party;
  • third-party or government acts, omissions, decisions, charges or delays;
  • website interruption, technical failure or external links; or
  • indirect, consequential or purely economic loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.

Any liability arising from a paid QSense service will be governed by the applicable service agreement and the rights and remedies available under Australian law.

18. Privacy

Personal information submitted through the website is handled in accordance with the QSense Imports Privacy Policy.

By submitting information, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to provide it.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time.

The current version will be published on this page with its latest revision date. Your continued use of the website after an update means the revised terms apply to your future website use.

Changes to these website terms do not retrospectively replace the terms of an existing service agreement unless agreed in writing.

20. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and any courts entitled to hear appeals from them.
